Active Situations
Treasury Yields / Fed Rate Path Escalating
The 10-year hit 5.32% Wednesday, its highest close since 2002. The 30-year touched 5.70%. FOMC minutes from the September 15-16 meeting showed broad agreement that rates have not yet reached restrictive territory, reinforcing the hawkish signal beneath the unanimous 12-0 vote. Dallas Fed President Logan said rates may need to rise another 50 basis points or more.
US-Iran War / Hormuz Escalating
Vance told Reuters that Iran must make a "meaningful" reduction in nuclear enrichment capacity to end the seven-month war. Tehran says its right to enrichment is non-negotiable. Three carrier strike groups are in or en route to theater, and Brent closed at $100.58 on Tuesday.
Graham Act Sanctions Clock Escalating
Ten days remain before mandatory tariffs of up to 100% take effect on goods from Russia's top energy buyers — China, India, and Turkey. A bipartisan House group wrote to the White House late last month demanding enforcement. No waivers have been filed. No guidance has been issued.
JPMorgan / Bank Earnings New
JPMorgan reports Q3 results October 13 before the open. Consensus EPS is $5.88. The FDIC's last quarterly report showed $326.7B in unrealized losses across the banking system, and yields have climbed further since.

Take a look at this…

It's a radical "light-speed" device that's turning AI as we know it into "Accelerated AI", making it 100 times faster and 100 times more energy efficient.

In fact, Jensen Huang, Nvidia's founder and CEO, says this device is shattering the limitations of AI and without it, AI can't scale.

If you want to discover what this technology is, why Nvidia is betting billions on it…

And the one stock we believe could be the biggest winner when "Accelerated AI" goes mainstream…

Russia-Ukraine War Escalating
Russia launched 137 drones against Ukraine overnight October 5-6 and expanded bridge strikes to Zaporizhzhia. Zelenskyy confirmed a US-proposed trilateral meeting by end of October. No venue or format has been set.
DRC Ebola Outbreak Escalating
Cases reached 8,603 with 4,148 deaths as of October 4. North Kivu now leads daily new infections, with 33 cases reported on October 4 alone. The destroyed Kigonze transit center has not been replaced.
US-Canada Trade War Holding
Section 338 bans on Canadian alcohol, dairy, and other goods remain in force alongside Ottawa's $20B in counter-tariffs. No bilateral talks are scheduled.
Europe Troop Withdrawal Holding
The NDAA 76,000-troop floor expired September 30. The Pentagon continues weighing options to pull 25,000 to 40,000 of roughly 80,000 troops from Europe. No timeline has been announced.

Trump’s New Money Exposed

It was the biggest stock market flotation in history.

It created the world’s first ever trillionaire.

But it may have caused millions of Americans to miss the single most important change to their money in more than 50 years.

Because, while everyone’s distracted by the SpaceX frenzy, Washington is quietly rewriting the rules of your financial life.

It wasn't voted on. It wasn't debated in the Senate. And most Americans have no idea it's even taking place but…

Not with crypto. Not with a digital currency. Something far bigger than that – and it's already been signed and sealed in the back rooms of D.C., ready to be issued by the U.S. Treasury.

Bypassing every legal and political channel under the guise of "national security," Trump has enacted this total money reset using a landmark executive order (14241).

Whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, whether you support this new money or not, it doesn't matter.

Soon, every U.S. citizen will be forced to use Trump's New Dollar to fill their gas tank, buy groceries, and pay medical bills.

Which is why I've produced a critical new documentary laying out exactly what Trump's New Dollar means for your savings, your investments, and your family's financial future.

Detailing three important steps you can take today to prepare – including the name of a core band of assets connected to Trump’s initiative that could surge as a result.

As you’ll see in my briefing, the last time America reset its money like this – under Richard Nixon’s presidency in the 1970s – it created one of the greatest wealth divides in the history of our nation.

On one side, it minted an average of 1,300 new millionaires a day for over half a century. And on the other… the folks left behind, drowning in debt, with no idea how to use America’s new money to create wealth.

As Trump rolls out his new dollar, the question is:

Intelligence Briefing
Fed Minutes Expose a Deeper Rate Debate
CONFIDENCE: HIGH
What
The FOMC released minutes Wednesday from the September 15-16 meeting. The vote to hike 25 basis points to 3.75-4.00% was 12-0, with all members supporting the quarter-point increase. But the language pointed to broad agreement that the current rate has not yet reached restrictive territory, with members emphasizing upside risks to inflation.
So What
Markets have priced the October 28 FOMC at 18% odds for another hike. The minutes suggest those odds are too low. Dallas Fed President Logan said on October 1 that rates may need to climb another 50 basis points or more. St. Louis Fed President Musalem called inflation "a present problem." Each basis point higher compounds the $326.7B in unrealized losses already sitting on bank balance sheets. JPMorgan reports in five days.
Now What
JPMorgan's Q3 results on October 13 will show updated marks on bond portfolios at these yields. The FOMC meets two weeks later. If the minutes shift hike odds above 30%, bond volatility moves higher from here.
Vance Adds Nuclear Enrichment to the War's Price
CONFIDENCE: HIGH
What
Vice President Vance told Reuters that Iran must make a "meaningful" reduction in nuclear enrichment to end the war. The interview, conducted after a campaign stop in Alaska, was published on October 6, the eve of the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks. Tehran says its right to enrichment is non-negotiable. The third carrier strike group is en route to the Gulf.
So What
Until this week, the endgame ran through Hormuz. Reopen the strait, lower oil, declare progress. Adding enrichment changes the math. Tehran treats its right to enrichment as sovereign and non-negotiable, though it has signaled room to discuss scope. The demand either reflects maximum-pressure confidence or builds the case for a post-midterm escalation. The EIA just raised its Q4 Brent forecast $14 to $105 per barrel. A longer war means higher oil, higher inflation, and higher rates — the same feedback loop visible in the FOMC minutes.
Now What
Watch for Tehran's formal response. The USS Theodore Roosevelt arrives late October, overlapping with midterms. If no diplomatic channel opens before then, the military track gains momentum.
Graham Act Tariffs in Ten Days. No Plan Exists.
CONFIDENCE: HIGH
What
The Graham Act's October 18 deadline is ten days away. The law requires tariffs of up to 100% on goods from countries buying significant volumes of Russian crude or natural gas. China, India, and Turkey are the primary targets. No waivers have been filed. No enforcement guidance has been issued.
So What
The law was signed September 18. Thirty days was never enough to build enforcement architecture for tariffs hitting the world's second- and third-largest economies. Enforcing as written opens a new trade front with Beijing and threatens the US-India Quad partnership. Declining to enforce gives Congress grounds for a legal challenge and hands Democrats a midterm issue. There is no clean exit from this deadline.
Now What
Watch for executive guidance or a waiver filing before October 18. Silence this close to the deadline is itself a signal.
Under The Radar
Russia Front-Runs Sanctions with Gold and Currency Stockpile
Russia will significantly increase purchases of foreign currency and gold between October 7 and November 6, according to a government decree cited in Western military assessments. The timing aligns with declining oil and gas revenue and arrives eleven days before Graham Act tariffs hit Moscow's largest remaining energy customers.

Moscow is hedging before the impact lands. If tariffs reduce Chinese and Indian purchases of Russian crude, the revenue decline accelerates. Stockpiling gold and hard currency now builds a buffer to sustain military spending through a sanctions-driven shortfall.

The announcement landed in a campaign assessment and went unnoticed in a cycle dominated by FOMC minutes and Vance's nuclear demands. Russia does not pre-announce defensive fiscal moves unless it expects the blow to connect.

Final Assessment
The S&P 500 closed at a record Tuesday. The 10-year yield closed at 5.32% Wednesday — its highest since 2002. Those two facts have coexisted for less than a week.

Three catalysts sit inside the next twenty days. JPMorgan earnings on October 13 will show what a 5.3% yield does to bank balance sheets. Graham Act tariffs take effect October 18 with no enforcement plan in place. The FOMC meets October 28 with minutes suggesting rates climb higher than the market expects.

Equities are pricing growth. Bonds are pricing inflation. Oil is pricing war. They cannot all be right.
