Active Situations
Iraqi Militia Deadline Escalating
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq's Aug 7 deadline expires tomorrow. The coalition gave Baghdad until then to respond to US-Saudi strikes that killed 20 PMU fighters, warning of direct action against US assets in Saudi Arabia. The group held off until after the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which has now passed. Saudi oil infrastructure sits within drone and missile range.
US-Iran / Hormuz Talks Holding
Qatar said Tuesday that negotiations were focused on a short-term resolution, but Tehran denied talks with Washington were taking place while Washington claimed they were ongoing. Iran continues parallel talks with Oman. Trump called Iranian leadership "unbelievably duplicitous" on Monday after Tehran denied talks had resumed. Brent dropped to $80 on the diplomacy signals but remains up 11.6% for the month.
SpaceX Lockup Escalating
The 911.5 million share lockup expires today — the largest single-day unlock in US market history. At recent prices, that puts roughly $123 billion in potential selling pressure on a stock already down more than half from its IPO high. The tranche is unconditional and unlocks regardless of price.
Ebola / DRC Escalating
WHO warned Saturday the outbreak is intensifying at an "exceptional" pace, calling it the fastest-growing Ebola event on record. Confirmed cases stood at 3,605 with 1,587 deaths as of July 30 — a 44% fatality rate. The Bundibugyo strain has no approved vaccine. Armed conflict in Ituri province continues to block health teams from reaching active zones.

Forget SpaceX, this is Elon’s Next Breakthrough

While everyone was distracted with the recent SpaceX IPO…

Elon Musk quietly filed a patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect what I believe will be his next breakthrough…

Something he called “the greatest tech invention in history.”

Elon is predicting this new AI breakthrough will unleash…

A $1 quadrillion new wealth wave.

That’s more than 30 times bigger than the entire U.S. economy.

And just to give you an idea of how much wealth we're talking about...

That would be enough to send a check for $2.8 million to every single American.

Click here to see the details because I believe this invention will make a lot of people rich.

Europe Heatwave / Wildfires Escalating
Spain's fourth heatwave of 2026 ended around August 2, but its effects persist. EFFIS mapped 457,459 hectares burned across the EU by July 29, up 31.8% from 2025 at the same date. At least 17 civilians and six firefighters have died, with roughly 330,000 displaced in Spain and France. Rhine and Danube water levels are dropping, threatening barge shipping and nuclear reactor cooling.
Houthi-Saudi Blockade Holding
The Houthi naval blockade on Saudi Arabia has continued since July 20, with Bab el-Mandeb traffic hitting its lowest in months on July 26. No major new strikes on Saudi energy sites in the past 48 hours. The blockade remains in effect and tanker diversions are still running.
FOMC / Rate Path Holding
The Fed held at 3.50–3.75% on July 29 with three hawkish dissents. September hike odds remain near 65%. The 10-year yield fell this week to around 4.62% as equities rallied, but the 30-year remains near its highest level since 2007.

The Hidden Answer to AI’s 8,000% Energy Surge

By 2030, AI data centers alone could consume as much electricity as entire nations like Sweden or Argentina. Today’s grid wasn’t built for this. That’s where Frontieras comes in.

Their patented FASFormTM technology breaks coal down to produce clean fuels, hydrogen, fertilizer, and more. All from one of America’s most abundant resources, with zero waste and minimal emissions.

Frontieras holds patents covering 85% of the world’s coal-producing regions, positioning the company to replicate this model globally. Their patented FASGENTM strategy also offers a smooth upgrade for existing coal plants. That creates an even bigger opportunity to reach more plants worldwide.

Frontieras is building the power that will keep AI and the global economy running. Become a Frontieras shareholder by August 6 to lock in the $9.01 share price.

Intelligence Briefing
SpaceX's $123 Billion Share Unlock Hits Today
CONFIDENCE: HIGH
What
SpaceX's first major lockup expiration takes effect today, freeing 911.5 million shares for sale. The tranche is unconditional — it unlocks regardless of price. At current levels, that represents roughly $123 billion in newly tradable stock. The float expands sharply in a single session.
So What
Lockup expirations rarely trigger full selloffs because most insiders hold. SpaceX is different — early employees bought below $30 and are sitting on gains even at today's depressed prices, making the incentive to sell structural. Short interest has been building, and market makers face an absorption test at a scale few stocks have seen. A clean session today signals a floor. A messy one drags the Nasdaq-100, which added SpaceX in July.
Now What
Watch volume in the first 90 minutes. If turnover exceeds 200 million shares before midday, the bid is struggling. A second tranche carries a price condition but remains locked because the stock has not met the price target.
Gold and Stocks Both Hit Records. One Is Wrong.
CONFIDENCE: MODERATE
What
Gold jumped $93.54 on Wednesday to $4,166 per ounce, a 2.3% gain in a single session. The S&P 500 had just set a record close of 7,737 on Tuesday, its first new high in two months. The Dow crossed 54,000 for the first time, up 908 points. Disney beat estimates Wednesday morning with adjusted EPS of $2.06 versus the $1.86 consensus.
So What
Stocks and gold setting records in the same week is a split signal. Equities price a Hormuz deal, strong earnings, and falling oil. Gold prices the opposite — war risk, currency erosion, and a Fed boxed at 3.50–3.75% with September hike odds at 65%. The 30-year yield touched levels not seen since 2007 just last week. When these two asset classes diverge this sharply, one of them is wrong.
Now What
Watch the gold-to-S&P ratio over the next five sessions. If gold keeps rising while equities stall, the fear trade is winning. The militia deadline tomorrow is the nearest catalyst.
Baghdad Has Not Answered. The Deadline Is Tomorrow.
CONFIDENCE: HIGH
What
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq gave Baghdad until August 7 to respond to joint US-Saudi strikes that killed 20 PMU fighters. The group warned it would take direct action against US assets in Saudi Arabia if the government stays silent. The deadline expires tomorrow. No public response from Baghdad has been issued.
So What
The group delayed its response until after the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which has now passed. That religious restraint is gone. Saudi oil infrastructure — refineries, export terminals, pipeline junctions — sits within drone and missile range of Iran-backed forces in southern Iraq. A strike on Ras Tanura or Abqaiq would send Brent past $100 in hours. Oil at $80 is pricing a Hormuz deal, not a militia strike on the world's largest crude processing facility.
Now What
The first 12 hours after the deadline are the highest-risk window. Watch for Iraqi government statements tonight or early Friday. Silence from Baghdad is the trigger condition the group specified.
Under The Radar
European Nuclear Reactors Are Running Out of Cooling Water
Weeks of record heat across Europe have pushed the Rhine and Danube to critical lows. Several nuclear reactors along both rivers depend on river water for cooling, and intake temperatures are approaching regulatory shutdown thresholds. NPR reported the heatwave has dropped water levels far enough to expose World War II-era wrecks in the Danube — a measure of how extreme the draw-down has become.

France faced this problem in 2022, when EDF curtailed output at multiple nuclear plants during a summer heat event. The difference now is scale. Spain just ended its fourth heatwave of the year, EFFIS has recorded 457,459 hectares burned, and the heat dome is forecast through mid-August. If reactors curtail output during peak demand, Europe faces simultaneous power shortages and grid strain.

The story is buried under wildfire footage. River gauge data does not make good television. But river levels move power prices, and power prices move industry.

Final Assessment
Three clocks are running. The SpaceX unlock drops $123 billion in tradable shares onto the market this morning. The Iraqi militia deadline expires tomorrow, with no answer from Baghdad and Saudi oil sites in range. And gold just posted its biggest single-day gain in months while the S&P sat at a record.

Equities at 7,737 are pricing a world where Hormuz reopens, earnings hold, and nothing breaks. Gold at $4,166 is pricing the opposite. Both numbers will be printed in tomorrow's paper. One of them will look wrong by Friday.

Eighty-one years ago today, the first atomic weapon was used in war. The morning started like any other.
